JONESBORO -- Armed with fact sheets, news releases and chocolate chip cookies, co-developers of The Mall at Turtle Creek unveiled the names of more than 50 tenants for the new mall Wednesday morning.
Among those names are retail icons such as Victoria's Secret, American Eagle, Bath & Body Works and Hot Topic.
"We promised to bring new and exciting tenants to the area," said co-developer Bruce Burrow, a partner at MBC Holdings Inc. with Memphis-based Marty Belz. "Today's announcement validates our original promise. We look forward to finalizing our remaining leases and announcing them to the public soon."
Burrow, standing before a roomful of media representatives, made the announcement with his longtime associate David Hocker, whose company, David Hocker & Associates Inc. of Kentucky, is codeveloper, leasing agent and manager for the $100 million-plus project. Before naming the tenants, the men gave a brief history of the mall development, beginning with their March 18, 2004, announcement, and ending with an outline of work that's transpired at the mall site during the past few months.
"This is a very exciting project," said Hocker, whose son, Talmage, stood nearby and answered questions. "I just can't tell you how proud we are of this. The Jonesboro and Northeast Arkansas market would be considered a middle market ... and this clearly is the No. 1 enclosed mall in the U.S. in the middle-market category. This mall will stack up very favorably with all of the A-class malls."
